DEACTIVATING THE BOUNTY HUNTER II AUTO SAFETY

Remove the butt plate and with a long screwdriver, remove the main stock bolt.

Lay the action on it’s left side and use a GOOD FITTING screwdriver to remove the rear side plate screw.  Exert a fair amount of downward pressure as you turn this screw.  This is actually a ferule which is directly attached into the screw(?) on the right side.  You can now remove the stock completely.

Remove the right cocking device (hammer) and the right front side plate screw.  Carefully remove the right side plate.

You will now see a small blued piece about an inch long connected to the tang safety and rear of receiver.  You can carefully remove this by working it back and forth as you move the break open lever.

If you have access to an air compressor, you may want to blow out the manufacturing residue at this time.  They are pretty dirty.

Some people cut the end of the device off so that it doesn’t engage the safety.  If you remove it, you can always reinstall it if you ever want to.

SAFETY IS OFF BUT TRIGGER WON’T PULL!!

I found the problem to be with the tang safety itself.  It has a little sideways play in it.  If the forward (right) trigger is move forward just a little bit, the plate hanging from the tang safety moves a little to the right and blocks the trigger.  My fix was to stop this sideways movement of the thing.
